I hope you have been making good use of the courts during this wonderful spell of warm weather.

 

We had a successful AGM on the 9th April.  The subscription rates have not increased for several years but the members recommended a small increase this year to help offset the rising costs.  We have kept the increases to a minimum and we thank you for your understanding.  These new rates are:

• Family  £300 (a rise of £15)

• Seniors £145 (a rise of £10)

• Couple £250 (a rise of £10)

• Juniors and Coaching Parents remain at £25 each

• Walking Tennis £60 (a rise of £10) the Pay and Play sessions remain at £3

We have two dates for your diaries:

• Sunday May 11th for a Spring Tournament with lunch and

• Sunday September 7th for an Autumn Tournament and BBQ

We hope you will be able to join us.

 

Weekly events

Monday 

Ladies afternoon from 2pm to 4pm (WhatsApp group)

Horam League matches from 6.30pm to 9pm (May 12th. 9th and 16th June, 7th and 14th July)

Tuesday

Ladies coaching from 8.45am to 9.45am

Wednesday

Walking tennis from10am to 12noon

Cardio Tennis at Maresfield at 10am

Club evening from 6.30pm

Thursday

Ladies afternoon from 2pm to 4pm (WhatsApp group)

7pm to 9pm Lindfield hire two courts from September to mid May (floodlighting)

Friday

Tennis Tots from 9.30am to 11am (using the single court)

Saturday

Junior coaching from 10am to 12.15pm (using two courts)

Sussex League Home matches start at 1pm and use the double court

Sunday

Club morning from10.30am to 12 noon (WhatsApp group)

 

Matches

Horam League matches are played on a Monday evening from 28th April through to 21st July.  Mixed, mens and ladies doubles. Home matches are on 12th May, 9th and 16th June, and 7th and 14th July when we use all three courts from 6.30pm to 9pm.  If you would like to play in these matches please let Hilary Blackburn of myself know: (hilsblackburn@gmail.com or jennysmerdon@gmail.com)

 

Sussex League Matches are played at the weekends, usually home matches are on Saturdays starting at 1pm and use two courts.

These match dates will be on the notice board.

 

If you would like to join any of the WhatsApp tennis groups on Mondays, Thursdays or Sundays please let me know and I will ask the administrators to add you.

 

The courts are soon to be cleaned and repainted - the contractor has indicated some time after Easter so I will let you know as soon as a date is confirmed.  All the courts will be out of action for a few days so your patience is appreciated.  They will look fab!!

 

A reminder - we have out tennis tidy-up day this coming Sunday (27 April) from 10am to 12 noon so if you can spare a couple of hours we would love your help.  Refreshments will be provided but please bring your own tools like shears, loppers, forks, etc.

 

Thank you for supporting the club over the last year.  We have a wonderful club which is a huge asset to the village.  If you know anyone who would like to join then please point them in the direction of the website.  There are leaflets by the clubhouse door and membership forms too.
